Aaron, Jessica, Dan and myself made a feeble attempt at this route. Spent
the night at the trailhead (actually, a 1/4 mile down the road) and left
at 5am to attempt a one day ascent of the ERD. Started raining an hour or
less up the trail, and then thunderstorms threatened us to turn back quickly.
I lost (1) 5.10 "Ascent" Climbing shoe somewhere on the route.
Send it to me if you find it.........Directions: Drive State Route 20 (the North Cascades Hwy), E or W, to the town of Marblemount. At the east end of town where the Hwy makes a 90 degree left turn heading north, drive east onto Cascade River Road. The road is paved for approximately 3 miles and then turns into gravel. Continue following the road to approx MP 22 and find a small trailhead on the left. Maps: USGS Forbidden Peak,
